About Mayra Diaz, LMFT

I am a Latina therapist learning to navigate my cross-cultural identity, practicing lots of meditation along the way, and challenging myself and my clients to grow.

I have wrestled with my own anxiety and lived through times where all I needed was someone to help me work through it. I know what a challenge it can be to balance two cultures and really big dreams with really big worries attached. I also know what it’s like to sit in a therapist’s office and not feel quite understood.

So, I’ve spent the last few years learning everything I can about anxiety to help myself and my clients learn to have a better relationship with their feelings. I have helped people overcome their crippling panic attacks, take their life back from OCD symptoms, and learn how to lean into and process their anxieties instead of avoiding them or being controlled by them. I have also spent much of my career working with BIPOC clients to help them understand how to cope with difficult feelings while also honoring the culture they came from.

I focus on exploring how our thoughts and behaviors affect how we feel. I help clients build new strategies to promote resilience and self-compassion. I incorporate CBT, ERP, ACT, I-CBT, and mindfulness into my work.
